Speedmaster Shakes Up The Automotive Aftermarket Industry in 2016

Australia's number one automotive aftermarket retail brand Speedmaster has made it’s mark in 2016 with a series of notable achievements. Speedmaster’s enthusiasm and commitment towards the restoration market has earned the brand some well deserved credibility, moving towards what will be an exciting growth period in 2017.


The movement from 15,000 SKUs to 100,000 SKUs places it in the top 3 largest aftermarket automotive sellers from around the globe. This is a substantial number considering performance parts are primarily a niche market. Upon trying to grow the brand Speedmaster have been working closely with affiliate brands, now reselling for 150 brands in total. “We’re looking forward to growing the new partnerships we’ve formed, the jump in affiliates has substantially grown our inventory and business. There are exciting times ahead” says Speedmaster CEO, Jason Kencevski. Speedmaster have also extended their own product line in 2016 with the inclusion of a multitude of 4WD products that have been a highly successful addition to their range.


Customers are left with plenty to look forward to next year, dawning the release of the diverse Speedmaster DNA range. The high performance product line will consist of premium, top quality aftermarket products with stringent quality standards. The most highly anticipated product from the range, the ‘El-Rayo Ignition System’ holds the companies latest patented design, flywheels, flex plates and rocker arms make up another portion of what is to come in 2017. Customers can expect the new range to carry more quality specifics such as SFI approvals, NHRA approvals and product patented designs.


On the awards board Speedmaster has proven its flair as a high performance powerhouse, breaking numerous records in 2016. Winning two SEMA awards at the 2016 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada, makes it 7 award winning years in a row for a total of 8 awards. Speedmaster employees are also making a mark for themselves in the industry, The Speedmaster CEO, Jason Kencevski was nominated as one of the Top 50 Executives of the Year, and The Gen III innovator of the Year for a second year running. Speedmaster COO Jay Verduzco was also inducted into the prestigious SEMA 35 under 35. This year Speedmaster has conquered its 9th ANDRA Top Doorslammer Championship in a row, adding to a tally of over 20 Drag Racing Championships from 2006 to present. 


Speedmaster are delivering when it comes to the modern demand in an e-commerce environment. Having recorded their largest ever online and offline sales revenue in 2016, the month of February 2016 also marks the largest company monthly sales revenue in history. From 2005 to present Speedmaster have maintained the highest consistency as an eBay top rated seller/ manufacturer/ store front world wide, solidifying their place as the top automotive brand in e-commerce webspace. As a result of this, Speedmaster have been selected as the only automotive case study for American global e-commerce provider Pitney Bowes. Powering digital and physical transactions for more than 1.5 million businesses worldwide, Pitney Bowes have invested in Speedmaster to extend their reach into the wider automotive community. Speedmaster’s online retail achievements this year include being voted into the Top 100 Online Retail Stores for 2016, and receiving nomination as an ORIAS finalist in 3 categories, the ‘Best In-Store Initiative’, ‘Best Multi Channel Retailer’ and ‘Best International Conquerer’.


Primarily focused on growing the online footprint and product innovation in 2016, Speedmaster have achieved much more in the space of 12 months. “We have exercised the need to build team leaders, encouraged a two way communication path between employee and employer, and facilitated growth in our product development and innovation department. It’s pleasing to see all the pieces start to come together, we’ll finish the year on a great note” says CEO Kencevski.
