Speedmaster’s CEO Jason Kencevski Shares Vision and Insights at the NHRA Booth at SEMA 2024

Las Vegas, NV – At the heart of the 2024 SEMA Show, Jason Kencevski, CEO of Speedmaster, joined Brian Lohnes and Tony Pedregon for a compelling interview at the NHRA booth to discuss Speedmaster’s industry impact, award-winning innovations, and the automotive trends driving the market forward. This year’s event was especially significant, as Speedmaster celebrated an impressive six new product awards at SEMA, highlighting the brand’s momentum and commitment to groundbreaking design.

Watch the Interview:

A Winning Year for Speedmaster

Kencevski opened by expressing his gratitude for Speedmaster’s strong presence both inside and outside the SEMA venue. He was especially proud of the recognition Speedmaster received for a conceptual product delivered as a 3D-printed prototype, demonstrating the brand’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of design and engineering.

Filling Market Gaps and Innovating with Classic Appeal

A key point of discussion was Speedmaster’s ability to identify and meet unique market needs. Kencevski shared the example of Speedmaster’s new Pontiac downdraft intake—a product aimed at a niche market that highlights the brand’s commitment to serving both large and small customer bases. He explained that while creating products for smaller audiences comes at a cost, it also fulfills a crucial need in the industry, especially for vintage technologies that haven’t been modernized until now.

Embracing New and Classic Engine Trends

The conversation then shifted to the ongoing popularity of LS engines, with Kencevski, Lohnes, and Pedregon discussing a shift back toward grassroots setups as more people revisit classic engines. They noted how Speedmaster’s offerings reflect this balance between innovation and nostalgia, with products that cater to both contemporary and classic automotive enthusiasts.

Memorable Moments at the NHRA Appreciation Dinner

Kencevski also highlighted a memorable moment from this year’s NHRA Appreciation Dinner, where Speedmaster gave away a 6/71 blower kit for Small Block Chevy—a crowd favorite. With participation at the dinner doubling, Kencevski humorously noted that he felt for the winner who had to carry the substantial prize home! He further emphasized the comeback of blowers in the automotive scene, remarking that the 6/71 blowers are Speedmaster’s “bread and butter” right now.

Generational Love for Cars

In a reflection on automotive culture, Kencevski, Lohnes, and Pedregon discussed how young enthusiasts now have unprecedented access to automotive content, fostering a generational passion for cars that continues to grow. Speedmaster is proud to support this trend, offering products that resonate with enthusiasts young and old.

An Open Invitation

Kencevski closed the interview by inviting attendees to visit Speedmaster’s two locations at SEMA, encouraging everyone to experience firsthand the quality and diversity Speedmaster brings to the market.
