Speedmaster Family Picnic

It may not look like it from the outside, but Speedmaster is a family owned business. Sure we’ve grown quite a bit since 2005. But even with our significant size, one thing has never changed; we are still a family-owned business. We think like a family owned business; so it is not surprising that company picnics make sense to us. Picnics are how families bond. Why not have them for a company where family is such a core value?

At our company picnic, you can expect all kinds of things, but food and friendship are top on that list. Whether it is burgers, grilled chicken, steaks, pies or ice cream, there is sure to be something tasty for everyone but most importantly, there will be opportunities to get to know co-workers in a way that just isn’t possible in a work environment. People act differently when they are enjoying time off, and conversations can be more relaxed.

Speedmaster is a work hard, play hard company. We love to have fun, but there is also a strong commitment to excellence and hard work. At the end of the day, we want to know that we have given the absolute best products and service to you, our customers. This takes drive and focus, but it also requires teamwork. What better way to learn about teamwork than picnic games and activities?

There are all kinds of games and activities that make people work together. Tug-of-war and blanket races spring to the mind when addressed. It might be folks in sacks hopping around like crazy people. And of course, there is the traditional game, volleyball that help to foster teamwork as well.

Growing up in Sydney and being a part of his dad’s automotive parts business, Jason was taught the value of building relationships – not just at home, but at work as well. So, now that the picnic is out of the way and the folks here at Speedmaster have had time to play hard, we’ll be back to working hard to build relationships with our customers because, in a very real way, you’re part of the family too. And building strong relationships is what we’re all about.
